Inheritance tax is the most unfair tax of all. I’m 77 years old. I’ve worked my entire life and paid taxes on everything I own. Yet, when I die, my children or grandchildren will have to pay tax again on the same house, vehicle, and personal property I already paid taxes on. How is this fair?
Only five states in the entire country have an inheritance tax, and Pennsylvania is one of them. Think about it: your kids must pay 4.5% inheritance tax on anything you leave them, within 9 months of your death—even if you’ve already paid taxes on everything.
Again, how is this fair?
If you believe this is wrong, please contact your state representative and senator and let them know.
