Two suspected drug dealers were arrested after police discovered drugs, body armor, and a firearm inside a Portland apartment during a search warrant, the Portland Police Bureau announced Saturday.
Around 9:30 a.m. on May 30, the bureau’s Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit executed a search warrant at an apartment on Southwest 12th Avenue.

Police said they had information that a firearm might be inside, prompting the Special Emergency Reaction Team and Crisis Negotiation Team to respond. After ordering residents to exit the apartment, SERT officers breached the door.
Inside, authorities arrested two men and recovered a revolver, body armor, and approximately 85 grams of methamphetamine.
Uriel Aceves-Leos, 30, of Portland, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of distributing methamphetamine, possessing a controlled substance, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Verdell Center, 29, was also booked into the detention center on charges of distributing methamphetamine, possessing a controlled substance, and being a felon in possession of body armor.
