SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (Gray News) – Two children were hurt when a pony-drawn cart struck a tractor-trailer, authorities reported.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, a 10-year-old girl was driving the pony-drawn cart with a 7-year-old boy riding as a passenger.
The pony became startled, causing the cart to crash into the tractor-trailer, WGAL reported.
The 7-year-old boy suffered head trauma and was taken to the hospital due to the severity of his injuries, troopers said. The girl sustained minor injuries and was also hospitalized, according to WGAL.
Officials confirmed the tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
The pony’s condition was not disclosed, WGAL added.
