A Toledo woman has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a home deemed “not fit for human habitation” and living there with four children for several days.
Pamela Boursaw, 31, faces a criminal trespassing charge and four counts of child endangerment. According to police affidavits, she entered a boarded-up house on Streicher Street that city code inspectors had declared unsafe for humans. The home’s door lock was broken, and a city notice about the conditions was posted on May 20.
Officers reported finding Boursaw and four children, ages four to 13, living in the house without running water or electricity for about four days. An officer also noted there was no sufficient food and rodent droppings were scattered throughout the home.
Charging documents state Boursaw admitted the conditions were unsafe for the children. Court records did not specify the current arrangements for the children.
Boursaw was booked into the Lucas County Jail late Friday night and is scheduled to appear before a judge on Monday.
