SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. — Three people are behind bars after a drug raid uncovered a synthetic methamphetamine distribution operation in the town of Shelburn, authorities confirmed Friday.
According to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began earlier this year and focused on a residence on South Jackson Street suspected of trafficking synthetic drugs, commonly known as “bath salts.”

A search warrant was executed the evening of Thursday, June 19, by a joint team from the sheriff’s office, Indiana State Police, and the Shelburn Town Marshal.
During the search, deputies say they caught individuals attempting to flush the drugs down a drain. Investigators seized:

Over 80 grams of suspected bath salts

Items consistent with narcotics distribution
Three individuals — a 58-year-old man, a 48-year-old woman, and a 35-year-old woman — were arrested on preliminary charges of dealing a controlled substance. Authorities have not yet released their names.
The investigation remains ongoing.
