FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — Two men are facing felony charges after allegedly breaking into a Fishers home and attempting to rob and sexually assault a 71-year-old woman, police said.
The incident happened early on June 12, around 6:30 a.m., at a home on the 16000 block of Brookmere Avenue. According to Fishers Police Department, the victim called 911 after she was attacked in her bedroom by two masked men.

The woman told officers she was half asleep when she noticed a light through her eyelids. Upon opening her eyes, she saw two men standing over her. In an act of self-defense, she grabbed the sweatshirt strings of one suspect and wrapped her legs around the other.
During the struggle, she suffered a deep cut on her finger that required stitches but reported no other injuries. After the suspects began to flee, the woman chased them from her home, shouting, “I’ll kill you.”
Later, she discovered her purse was missing, and about an hour after the attack, she received a notification that her credit card had been declined at a Meijer in Cumberland, Indiana.
Through investigation, Fishers detectives linked Elijah Oates, 24, and Daquez Stockdale, 25, to the crime. Both men had reportedly been involved in similar past incidents. A major break came from a white sedan seen leaving the scene—footage matched Oates’ silver Chevrolet Sonic, and detectives later confirmed his involvement. Oates then identified Stockdale as the second suspect.
Stockdale faces three felony charges, while Oates faces seven. Both are scheduled for a jury trial on October 7.
