Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah), a close Trump ally, is facing backlash over a controversial social media post. On Sunday, he shared a photo of a man accused of impersonating a police officer and shooting two Democratic lawmakers and their spouses. Alongside the image, Lee wrote, “This is what happens when Marxists don’t get their way.”
The post confused many, especially since a close friend of the suspect claimed the shooter is a Trump supporter—not a Marxist. Critics quickly condemned the senator’s remarks.
