Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) said President Donald Trump’s military action in Iran has only strengthened his commitment to pass legislation that could remove health care coverage for over 10 million Medicaid recipients.
During a Sunday interview on Fox News, host Maria Bartiromo asked Johnson if the escalating global tensions had changed his stance.

“No, if anything, it just strengthens my resolve,” Johnson responded. “I mean, how do we expect to defend this nation if we’re mortgaging its future, if we’re bankrupting it?”
Johnson also criticized Trump’s proposed health care legislation, known as the One Big Beautiful Bill, saying it didn’t go far enough to address the issue.
“Again, I appreciate what the House has done,” he said. “I really don’t have a beef with what they’ve done. It’s just inadequate to the enormity of the problem.”
