PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man is recovering in the hospital after being shot by a North Portland homeowner early Thursday morning during an alleged attempted break-in.
Police responded around 1:30 a.m. to a home in the 700 block of North Baldwin Street, where a caller reported shooting a man who was trying to break in through the front door.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect injured with a gunshot wound. Officers applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, and the man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities confirmed.
The homeowner remained at the scene and fully cooperated with law enforcement. As of now, no charges have been filed, but the investigation remains ongoing.
