LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified William Edward Vickers, 85, of Lake Isabella, as the victim of a deadly solo-vehicle crash on Highway 155 last month.
The incident occurred on Friday, May 23, 2025, just before 5 p.m., near French Gulch Creek. According to the California Highway Patrol, Vickers was driving a white 2021 Ford Explorer westbound when he failed to navigate a left-hand curve.

The SUV veered off the roadway in a northwesterly direction, overturned, and went down a steep embankment. Vickers died at the scene, authorities said.
