A major federal indictment has charged 21 people suspected of being part of a drug trafficking ring based in Indianapolis. Acting U.S. Attorney John E. Childress announced the charges following a multi-state law enforcement operation that extended from Indianapolis to Phoenix, Arizona. Authorities believe Eric Robinson led the operation.
On Friday, law enforcement teams executed warrants at 21 locations, arresting 19 suspects. The coordinated effort, involving 19 federal, state, and local agencies, resulted in a significant haul: about 56 firearms, $12,000 in cash, 75 pounds of methamphetamine, and two pounds of fentanyl were seized.
The suspects face serious charges tied to distributing multiple illegal drugs—including meth, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, and Xanax. Prosecutors say most of the supply came from Texas and Arizona, with some sourced locally in Indianapolis, and was funneled through a network of redistributors in the area.
The crackdown was part of Operation Take Back America, a joint initiative aimed at disrupting organized drug crime. It falls under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) and Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), both supported by the Indiana High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office emphasized that indictments and criminal complaints are only accusations. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
