LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) — A probationary officer with the Buffalo Police Department has been suspended with pay following a shooting incident involving a 22-year-old woman at the home of a Lancaster police officer, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred early Wednesday morning at a residence on Enchanted Forest North in Lancaster. Police responded to a call just before 5:50 a.m., but by the time they arrived, the woman had already been transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She has since been treated and released, according to officials.
Officer Was Off Duty at the Time
Buffalo police confirmed that the suspended officer was off duty and present at the residence during the time of the shooting. The officer is currently on paid suspension as the investigation continues.

Authorities said that multiple individuals, including other off-duty officers, were inside the residence at the time of the incident. As part of the ongoing investigation, police removed a vehicle and a couch from the home as evidence.
