The woman, who was struck by several bullets, was rushed to the hospital for surgery and is now reported to be in stable condition. Miraculously, the infant only suffered minor abrasions and is expected to recover.

Authorities identified the shooter as Giovanny Javier De Jesus De Jesus, 21. He fled the scene before police arrived, but witnesses provided crucial details that helped law enforcement track him down. Hours later, De Jesus surrendered to the Decatur Police Department just before 11 p.m. on June 21.

He is currently being held at the Hamilton County Jail, facing eight felony charges, including two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated battery.
