California continues to shine on the international stage—12 of its universities have been ranked among the best in the world, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings released Tuesday.
The annual list evaluates universities across 105 countries, assessing factors like global and regional research reputation, number of highly cited papers, and overall academic excellence. This year, the U.S. claimed 280 universities, coming in second to China, which led the pack with 397 institutions.
