Two tornadoes touched down near Lafayette during a line of storms that swept through multiple states on June 18, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.
The intense storms that moved through Indiana that afternoon knocked out power and triggered two EF0 tornadoes west and northwest of Lafayette.
According to the NWS on June 19, the twisters followed a path across much of Tippecanoe County. While most of the damage in the area came from straight-line winds, the tornadoes brought down trees and caused minor damage to two homes.
Each tornado stretched about a third to half a mile long, with estimated peak winds between 75 and 80 mph, the weather service said.
