Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 58 Near Tehachapi Leaves One Dead

A woman driving the wrong way on Highway 58 near Tehachapi was killed in a head-on collision Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 1:31 p.m. on June 18, 2025, west of Highway 202.

California Realtor Charged for Allegedly Hiking Rent 30% After Wildfire Displacement

CHP investigators say the woman was driving a Jeep westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 58 when she collided head-on with an eastbound Ram 1500 pickup truck.

The wrong-way driver died at the scene. The driver of the Ram 1500 was taken to Kern Medical Center with injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to contact the CHP Mojave Area office at (661) 823-5500.
