Texas law enforcement wrapped up a major statewide crackdown on online child exploitation, resulting in 244 arrests and the rescue of 109 children.
The month-long operation, called Operation Soteria Shield, was carried out in April 2025 and involved more than 70 law enforcement agencies across the state. The effort was also supported by the National Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The operation’s primary mission was to locate and arrest individuals involved in the production, possession, or distribution of child sexual abuse material. With hundreds of arrests made and over a hundred children rescued, authorities called the results a major success in the fight against online child exploitation.
While officials didn’t release the names or locations of those arrested, they emphasized that efforts like this are vital to protecting vulnerable children from further harm.
Though this sting was a significant win, law enforcement agencies stress that the battle is far from over. Online exploitation remains a serious threat, and Texas authorities say they remain committed to identifying and stopping anyone involved in such crimes.
This operation serves as both a warning to offenders and a message of hope for victims—that help is out there, and justice is being pursued.
